The structures of my work a first may seem simple but as you linger and explore they draw you in deeper and deeper. They invite you to get lost in yourself and the work. Edges intertwine and envelope each other and bring you back to the surface again. I want you to get lost, to stand before a new, never before seen landscape. There may be a sense of familiar but it’s only a glimpse and then it is gone again. Draw your own conclusions. Find your own path and in finding it you will find truth.

Shifting And Being 2016

This work is the beginning of my exploration of reducing through erasure then rebuilding through various layers. There was a freedom I felt working on paper. I also wanted to explore my love of drawing while still including painterly elements. I am so proud that this work gave me the opportunity to have a solo exhibition at Mongerson Gallery in 2016. It is an experience I carry with me to this day.
